Bluerock TMS named an Accelerator in the Nucleus TMS Value Matrix 2026

Written by Bluerock TMS | 20.10.2026

Bluerock TMS has been recognised as an Accelerator in the Nucleus Research TMS Technology Value Matrix 2026. The report assesses 25 transportation management vendors on two dimensions: the usability of their solutions and the functionality they deliver.

With this recognition, Bluerock is one of nine vendors featured in all three of the major TMS analyst assessments of 2026: Gartner, Nucleus Research and IDC Marketscape. The other eight are SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Infios, Alpega, Shipwell and Uber Freight.

What is the Nucleus Research TMS Technology Value Matrix?

The Nucleus Research TMS Technology Value Matrix is an annual analyst assessment of transportation management system (TMS) vendors. It places each vendor on two axes: usability and functionality. The 2026 edition, written by analyst Charles A. Brennan, assesses 25 vendors.

Nucleus describes the matrix as a snapshot of the TMS market, not a ranking. Vendors are grouped into four categories: Leaders, Experts, Accelerators and Core Providers.

Which vendors are in the 2026 TMS Value Matrix?

The 2026 matrix includes 25 vendors across four categories:

Category Vendors

What does Nucleus Research say about Bluerock TMS?

Nucleus describes Bluerock as a modular TMS that supports strategic, tactical and operational transportation decisions. The platform covers network design, planning and optimisation, procurement, carrier booking, dispatch, dock and yard management, visibility, anomaly detection, freight audit, customer service and performance management.

Customers can deploy individual modules and add more as their operation grows. According to Nucleus, this suits network planning teams, contract logistics providers, shippers and last-mile operators.

How does Bluerock support strategic, tactical and operational planning?

Bluerock structures transportation decisions across three planning horizons, each on the same platform and data:

  1. Strategic: Network design, scenario modelling, comparing alternative distribution structures.
  2. Tactical: Routing strategies, volumes, capacity requirements and network performance, tested before they reach daily operations.
  3. Operational: Routing and scheduling, dispatch, trip execution, shipment monitoring, performance analysis.

What is Composer?

Composer is Bluerock's network orchestration layer. It lets transport teams evaluate network scenarios, transport flows, resource needs, service performance and costs using data from across the TMS.

Nucleus writes that Composer helps organisations connect long-term network design with short-term routing and execution, "rather than managing each planning horizon independently."

This is the difference between optimisation and orchestration. Optimisation solves one step at a time. Orchestration connects the steps, so a network plan stays valid once it reaches daily operations.

What has Bluerock launched in the past 12 months?

Nucleus lists three developments at Bluerock in the past year:

  1. Last Mile Distribution: a cloud-native environment that manages the full delivery lifecycle, from order intake to proof of delivery. It combines route planning, dispatch, real-time trip monitoring, item-level traceability, customer communications, self-scheduling and mobile delivery workflows.
See how Last Mile Distribution runs every delivery from dispatch to doorstep.
  2. Composer: a network planning and orchestration environment for organisations managing complex, multi-site transportation networks. Users can evaluate network-wide scenarios and recurring structural changes across hubs, distribution locations, business units and cross-border flows, instead of relying on isolated, one-time network studies.
Explore how Composer turns network scenarios into plans you can run.
  3. Transportation Orchestration System: a redesigned version of the platform built to support agentic workflows. The architecture will serve as the foundation for a growing library of transportation applications and AI-enabled workflows, further unifying planning, execution, visibility and orchestration in one platform.

What does the 2026 report say about the TMS market?

Nucleus sees TMS vendors moving beyond planning, tendering and settlement toward connected transportation ecosystems. Trade uncertainty, rising costs and complex supply chains are pushing companies to seek more visibility and financial control.

The report names three trends: continuous optimisation with real-time data, AI that monitors exceptions and runs routine workflows, and natural language interfaces. Nucleus expects buyers to judge TMS investments on measurable ROI, such as lower freight costs and better asset utilisation.
