Vivienne Westwood had to manage a highly complex omnichannel logistics environment. Its network included flows between internal operations and subcontractors, the movement of raw materials and finished goods, reverse logistics for damaged products, seasonal sample handling, and service requirements that varied across third-party retail, flagship stores, e-commerce, and marketplaces. Retail returns also had to be handled both in-store and online.

At the same time, the business was being held back by a fragmented operating model. Non-integrated IT systems limited access to reliable data, manual invoicing created delays and inefficiencies, communication between departments and partners was not standardized, and the lack of structured transport data made accurate CO2 tracking difficult.
